Project Dipeo

Lafarge South Africa launched the first wave of its skills development initiative in Lichtenburg, North West Province, on 31 August 2018. Project Dipeo is our way of inspiring greatness in others, who then go on to inspire their communities. The project was realised with the help of the South African Council for Graduates Cooperative (SACGC), and aims to contribute to skills development in areas where we operate. 

This first wave of Project Dipeo involves recruiting learners from communities in the Ditsobotla Municipality, for technical and vocational training bursaries in various disciplines. The 22 successful candidates attended the launch of the project, and were offered bursaries to pursue N4 – N6 qualifications. Other learners were also selected to undergo a formal work-integrated learning programme to gain knowledge and experience in their relevant study fields.
