On the 19th of November 2013, Lafarge South Africa paid tribute to the company's top suppliers in recognition of their excellent performance and outstanding support during 2013 at the annual Lafarge Supplier of the Year Awards.

Lafarge South Africa, the local presence of the international Lafarge Group, hosted the award event to honour their top suppliers which have provided Lafarge with consistently outstanding service. "Lafarge encourages meaningful relationships, which in turn builds loyalty, and that loyalty generates repeat and referral business. We believe that our suppliers play a vital role in building relationships and in turn deserve recognition," said Alan Scott, Country Procurement Manager.

The theme of the day was ‘Influence Tomorrow Today'.  Scott continued: "Our ambition is to build a world class supply chain network and the first step in that journey is to develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) principles and skills between Lafarge and its supply base. Supplier of the Year is one of the central building blocks in this process and helps both Lafarge and its strategic suppliers to evolve as a value creating community."
