This week, the Lafarge Education and Community Trusts awarded individuals at Inqabayamazimela High School and Eniwe Primary School for the Mzimela and Ndabayakhe School Ceremonies, recognising their efforts and contributions in the Empangeni community.
In addition to awarding excellence at the schools, Lafarge handed over the newly build Administration Block at Inqabayamazimela High School.
The awards recognised individuals in categories such as the outstanding school management team, most innovative educator and top performing learners in the community to name a few.
The Lafarge Education Trust is about improving the quality of education in South Africa, and particularly in the communities where Lafarge operates. The Trust supports a wide spectrum of education interventions ranging from the provision of infrastructure, social and academic skills, bursaries and exposure to post study opportunities.
The Lafarge Community Trust’s aim is to mobilise communities to access resources and improve their quality of life.
“We applaud the individuals that were recognised at the Mzimela and Ndabayakhe School Ceremonies, as education and sustainability are core values at Lafarge. We are also very excited about the newly built administration block at Inqabayamazimela High School and hope that it will be a great asset to both present and future learners and teachers at the school,” says Mpogeng Nkgadima, Programme Manager: Lafarge Education and Community Trusts.
