Lafarge is deeply concerned for safety of its employees and for anyone involved with Lafarge. This concern is expressed emphatically by the Group's Chaiman and CEO, Bruno Lafont, who has ensured that Safety is the Group's No.1 operational priority.

The Group puts this policy into effect by providing safety equipment, training in safe working methods and best practices. Safety Standards such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Working at Height (WAH) and Lock Out - Tag Out - Try Out (LOTOTO) have been implemented and made mandatory to ensure effectiveness. Other standards are continually being prepared.

Although it is the employee’s responsibility to keep him/herself safe – and that responsibility cannot be transferred to management or the company – Lafarge considers its people as the company’s prime asset and endeavours to provide a safe working environment, while equipping each employee with the means to work safely.
